Product is multifaceted. There is no one way to do it, and no single entry point. Drawing from her multidisciplinary background, Gin is agile and able to meet you where you're at to help navigate the path forward.
Whether new to product and needing someone in your corner, to playing sparring partner as you develop your strategy and manage complex stakeholders, Gin can drive your outcomes with high impact coaching and advisory.
-
Strategies and roadmaps should be able to be read by anyone from marketing and legal, to design and engineering. They should be clear and concise, with minimal jargon. This requires incisive, deliberative thinking to know what to leave off the page.
Gin is passionate about developing, documenting and communicating strategy and execution plans effectively. Drawing together internal and external, qualitative and quantitative data, Gin works with you to develop a strategy and roadmap that are ambitious, robust, aligned, and your teams will actually use.
-
Focusing on product outcomes sometimes means what underpins team performance is neglected. Having your product practices and operations running smoothly is an enormous multiplier of team effort, allowing people to get on with the job rather than figuring out how to do it. Critically, it also frees up senior leaders' time and headspace for more strategic work.
Experienced in startup teams of 5, through to global companies of 6,000+, Gin knows what both over and under engineered product ops looks like. She'll work with your team in your context, to find the right balance so you can move fast and keep focused on the priorities of the day.
-
Extremely powerful but frequently missed, a product architecture connects your business strategy with your product strategy, through to your prioritisation and roadmaps. A product architecture forces a coherent and bounded articulation of your product, ensuring you're not just building a shopping list of features or shipping your org structure. Your customers will thank you.
One of Gin's favourite product artefacts, she will facilitate a process with you and your team to build shared understanding of what it is your team is and isn't building - and importantly, why. The outcome is a team that is on board with your direction, equipped to make decisions, and ready to run.
-
Sometimes you just need someone you can trust to drop in and hit the ground running. You may not be ready for a permanent hire, are in between product hires, need an injection of hands on and experienced leadership, or you want to trial how product might fit in your company.
Known for being quick to get up to speed, I’ll come in and balance listening to where your team is at whilst driving impact from day one.

Capability building can benefit new teams, and existing teams looking to upgrade their skills and explore new spaces. Driving both technical and cultural gains, investing in your team's learning is critical for employee engagement and effectiveness.
With a background prior to tech in facilitation, leadership development and training design and delivery, Gin has extensive experience in building teams and capabilities that lead to high performance. Tailored to create engaging, agile and inclusive spaces, she can flex between the technical and the personal to focus capability build where it will have the greatest impact.
What experience do I bring?
I started in the social sector to learn about people and how to design for them. Wanting to understand commercial and strategic domains, I moved into management consulting before realising the future was digital and making the move to technology.
Bringing this toolkit to tech, I thrive in complex problem spaces that require incisive thinking, effective communication, a human heart and the ability to quickly get up to speed.

Over a decade across design and product management I’ve built B2B and B2B2C SaaS products in startups, developed platforms in a global media publication, and built bots using AI in a category leading global tech company. A strategic lead who is happy to get my hands dirty, roles I’ve held include Design Lead, Head of Product and Product Director and have included hiring and managing designers, engineers and product managers.
-
Across management consulting and as an independent contractor, clients I’ve worked with include state and federal government departments, major banks, NFPs, insurance companies and a Fortune 500 global resources company. Projects have spanned data analysis, strategy development, user research, and training design and delivery where I specialised in leadership development.

Starting my career in youth work, I moved into community mental health advocacy and outreach, and leadership development in education. Work spanned service and experience design, including designing and delivering over 100 workshops, camps and training courses with a broad range of people - many vulnerable and at times with complex needs. I worked in schools, community facilities, universities and hospitals across Australia and England.
For a detailed overview of my experience, refer to my LinkedIn.

My goal is to make sure we use technology to amplify human ingenuity, in service of better outcomes for people and planet.
Speaking and community
It’s immensely rewarding to engage with community and education, and directly contribute to the conversations a healthy society relies on. My contributions focus on leadership and technology. Here are a some examples of organisations I’ve worked with through speaking engagements, coaching, guest lecturing, podcast interviews, and as an industry expert.
If you’re interested in any of these engagements, get in touch and I’m happy to tell you more about what I’ve done and can do in this space.
